(1) The Chicago Maroon (one of the student newspapers at the University of Chicago) will publish on Friday an article about media ownership and the FCC.
(2) Speaking of the FCC, if Powell is able to get his way on June 2, there's talk about having coordinated protests/actions across the United States, including plans for Chicago.
(3) On a happier note, CMA is involved in planning for a celebration of independent/non-corporate media in Chicago, probably on July 4 ("Media Independence Day"?). More details on this as the plans become clear.
Cheers.
