CHICAGO MEDIA ACTION ALERT, July 28, 2004 http://www.chicagomediaaction.org On July 19, Chicago Media Action made public its first media analysis of WTTW. In its first week, the study has been downloaded more than two thousand times from the CMA website. The study has been mentioned in the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Reader, and by Chicago's NPR affiliate. We have the facts: the station is not responsive to most of Chicago's population. But what's needed now is the power of organizing to make an impact upon the station. And you can help. Chicago Media Action is organizing a meeting to figure out what to do next -- to arrive at a specific plan to improve the station, and how to carry it out. Date: Tuesday, August 10, 2004 Time: 6pm - 8:45 pm Place: The Lincoln-Belmont Library, 1659 W. Melrose (just a block away from the Paulina brown line stop; two blocks from Belmont; a block from Lincoln) Hope you can come, and please spread the word. If you can't attend this meeting, but would like to be involved in participating, you can contact CMA (contact information is listed below). *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This is an email from Chicago Media Action, a Chicago activist group devoted to media issues.
